Google interface = Nokia phones

A lot of advanced features, cheap (free), but visually uglier and harder to use than their rivals.
It seems true, that rich companies do not look at cheap solutions. If you have the budget, its hard not to spend it all.
Clear and simple? Thats good. But if you can have something else that is clear, simple, better looking and feeling?
There even are a better search tool for searching gmail! cloud...whatever...com Excuse me! Google after some years will be just a lot of "free" server space and sync service. They have a lot of useful tools, but there are a lot of smaller companies, each of them has just one, but a better one. And those tools are getting even more and more compatible with each other. That means - if you like one of companies tools you are not forced to use their other tools to keep your web life together, you can use other tools made by other companies and they still are gonna be compatible.
Google is huge, but thats not enough anymore. The best they had was one account for everything. Now those others have differet account, but you can sync those accounts mostly automatically and through Google, dropbox ory any other sync service.
Am I the only one seeing that Google is not invincible?

Stāsts par to, kāpēc savos blogos sāku rakstīt arvien retāk. Blogger blogus izglāba to dublikāti Posterous, kur var skaisti rakstīt rakstus e-pastā.

Šodien biju PTIG. Tāpēc, ka tika solīts stāsts par lietojamību.
Praksē tas bija screencast demonstrējums, kurā tika ierakstītas kādas vienkāršas (izstrādes stadijā) sociālās lapas viena lietotāja viens uzdevums. Netika solīts testēšanas pārskats vai vismaz problēmziņojumu un izmaiņu ierosinājumu saraksts. Jā, jā, tai programmiņai pietika ar vienu tik nelielu testa paraugu, lai varētu noziņot vismaz 10 problēmas/izmaiņas/papildinājumus.
Demonstrētā programma darbojās uz Mac un tās ikona bija ar gorillu, maksājot ap 60$ - nepaguvu pierakstīt programmas nosaukumu, bet šīs pazīmes varētu līdzēt šo programmu sameklēt. Derētu apskats par līdzīgām programmām. Pieņemu, ka arī ļoti dārgajām būtu jābūt kādai izmēģinājuma versijai.

Tā arī radās iedvesma, ka lietojamības jomas atradumus, pieredzes fragmentus un domas - nebūt nesolot unikalitāti vai pirmreizējo ideju celšanu gaismā - vajadzētu pierakstīt atsevišķā tematiskā blogā, lai varētu padalīties ar tiem kam interesē tieši lietojamība. Personīgais blogs ir pārslogots ar daudzām citām tēmām. Lietojamības tajā ir gauži maz, jo tam ir cita mērķauditorija.
